Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic Marketing Assistant to support the Marketing department of our organization. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and passionate about marketing and social media.
Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant supports the marketing team with planning, executing, and tracking marketing programs. Their responsibilities may include analyzing data to monitor campaigns and evaluate results, managing the production of marketing collateral, helping with the organization and promotion of events, and providing project-specific administrative support.
This is a part-time contract position for 3 days a week that begins April 1, 2024 with the contract ending, June 14th, 2024. Please note that this position is required to work 6 days during the week of the In-person Festival — May 27-June 2 on Granville Island.
Responsibilities
- Support the marketing department’s campaigns and initiatives through administrative tasks and coordination.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create a social media calendar
- Compose and post online content on the organization’s website and social media accounts
- Create graphic content for social media channels
- Conduct market research and analyze consumer rating reports/ questionnaires
- Organize the distribution and fulfillment of the Festival’s public brochure
- Delivery of brochures to various stores, organizations and schools
- Support Marketing Manager in organizing various projects
- Update spreadsheets, databases and inventories with statistical information
- Assist in promoting the Festival through traditional or digital campaigns
- Other duties as required
Qualifications /Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma with some Marketing/Communications experience, will also consider undergraduate students or those with equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
- Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
- Detailed oriented
- Self-starter
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and social media platforms
- Active Social Media presence and proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, X and WordPress
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Interest in Marketing
- French speaker an asset but not required
- Driver’s license an asset

Remuneration:
Contract fee $6,000
