Can you tell us a little about your role at the Festival?
I am the festival’s Volunteer Coordinator. I am responsible for recruiting, training and organizing volunteers for the festival.
What are your initial thoughts and experiences?
I am excited to be involved in the Children’s Festival again this year given that it was such a fun experience last year. I look forward to meeting new volunteers and helping put together an amazing festival again this summer.
Please tell us why you decided to get involved with the Festival?
I decided to get involved in the festival because I enjoy working at festivals and seeing the joy the festival brings to patrons.
What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time?
I like to watch new movies, see shows and read books. I currently love reading murder mysteries.
What do you wish other people knew about the Festival?
The festival can be fun for all ages. There are fantastic performers and lots of fun activities for the whole family.
What would you consider your hidden talent?
I can crochet and knit. This is a hidden talent because I rarely make things but I love to give blankets and scarves to family and friends.
How are you involved in your community?
I am involved in the community by attending local cultural community events across Metro Vancouver.
What part of the Festival are you looking forward to the most?
My favourite part of the festival are the theme days. Each day of the festival volunteers and staff dress up according to a different theme. It’s always fun to see what outfits everyone comes up with.
How do you get creatively playful?
I love to paint and draw for fun. I find art relaxing whether it is painting landscapes or just doodling.
