Child Activities In Our Activity Village

From toddlers to tweens, our child activities allow kids of all ages to get creative or just have some fun in our Activity Village. Spend the day being creatively playful in our Activity Village. Explore a variety of activities for children. Your In-person show ticket includes access to the Activity Village! 

Everyone needs a wristband to enter the festival site Activity Village.

  • If you purchase a Show ticket then it includes an Activity Village wristband!
  • If you don’t want to see a show but want to visit our Activity Village (only), then you can purchase wristbands on-site: Festival site activity wristband  – $8 per person (includes GST and Service Charges)
  • On-site activities are NOT open during the evening shows. Show your ticket anytime during the Festival and you’ll get an Activity Village wristband for that day.
  • Tuesday — Friday: 9:30am to 2:30pm
  • Saturday: 10:30am to 6:00pm
  • Sunday: 10:30am to 5:00pm

Younger children are not to be left unattended in the festival activities.

We will update this page with a more specific list of activities closer to the Festival. In the mean time, here is more information and curriculum connections for some confirmed activities: 

African Pavilion
Step into African arts, cultures, stories, games and languages. Children will learn and practice how friendship is cultivated through rhythm in African villages. Listen to each other’s beat, feel our collective rhythm and connect to our shared humanity.

Indigenous Arts 
Join Christine Mackenzie as she leads a workshop to create Indigenous art and animals with traditional form line of the North West coast in a contemporary way. Learn about the importance of animals and traditional ways while being creative with a mix of mediums.

Circus Arts
Learn the basics of juggling, Diablo, rhythm sticks and stilt walking from young circus pros.

Hai Origami 
Make a boat, bunny, jumping frog, or star wand while learning the intricate art of Japanese paper folding.

Scavenger Hunt
